Each year, according to UNICEF, 2 million children die from the lack of vaccinations to common childhood diseases. Without these updated vaccinations and proper health care, these children are left to fight some of the worst diseases on earth.

Our website, Vaccinations for Nations, aims to educate young people about this situation around the world, the diseases that ravage the innocent children, and the ways that every world citizen can help. Our website, Vaccinations for Nations, chose to focus on the seven diseases identified as the largest contributors to child death. These diseases are: polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tuberculosis, tetanus, measles, and rubella. Most of these common childhood diseases already have effective vaccines that are distributed through many countries. Still, in many areas children do not receive these needed precautions. These children do not deserve this danger, but it is the state of many countries around the world.

Fortunately, vaccinating children around the world is also a goal of many world organizations that work daily at reaching goals of disease eradication. The organizations we researched include:

  • United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF)
  • The World Health Organization (WHO)
  • The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Rotary International
  • The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

However, these organizations need the world’s help, including other young people around the world. We hope to encourage this involvement and have worked to form an informative and helpful website that clearly presents the problem and the solution.
